Your Questions, Answered
-
Who is the artist behind the work?
I’m Carissa — an Australian artist, nurse, and advocate. My work is created for women who are rebuilding, redefining, or pausing long enough to reconnect with themselves. Each piece is grounded in symbolism, reflection, and emotional depth, and is created slowly and intentionally in my studio.
What inspires your artwork?
My work is inspired by identity, resilience, becoming, and the quiet strength found in moments of transition. Much of my practice is informed by lived experience, healing, and my ongoing postgraduate studies, which explore trauma, recovery, and the systems that shape women’s lives.
Are the artworks original?
Yes. Every artwork begins as an original painting created in my studio. Fine art prints are museum-grade reproductions of these original works, created to honour the texture, colour, and emotion of the original piece.

How do I choose the right artwork for my space?
Start with how you want the space to feel, not just how it should look. Ask yourself whether you want calm, strength, reflection, or softness. If a piece resonates emotionally, it’s usually the right choice.
What size artwork should I choose?
As a general guide:
• Small (33.3 × 40 cm) – Ideal for bedside tables, hallways, reading corners, or gallery walls
• Medium (41.7 × 50 cm) – Suited to living spaces, home offices, or above consoles
• Large (50 × 60 cm) – A statement piece for feature walls
Aim for artwork to fill around 60–75% of the wall width for balanced proportions.
Should I choose framed or unframed artwork?
Framed artwork is ready to hang and professionally finished. Unframed prints allow flexibility if you prefer to frame locally or already have a frame in mind. Both options are designed to look beautiful — it’s simply a matter of preference.
-
What is a fine art print?
A fine art print is a high-quality reproduction of an original artwork, produced using archival inks and museum-grade materials designed to last for decades without fading. These are clearly different from posters or mass-produced prints.
What paper are your prints made on?
Prints are produced on premium archival paper using museum-grade inks. This ensures longevity, rich colour depth, and a subtle texture that reflects the original artwork.
Are your prints limited edition?
Some sizes are released as collector editions, while others are open editions released in small batches.
• Large paper prints (50 × 60 cm) are limited collector editions
• Smaller sizes are open edition, printed intentionally in small quantities
Once a limited edition sells out, it will not be restocked.
-
How are framed prints finished?
Framed prints include a white mat (border) to protect the artwork and elevate the presentation. Frames are available in classic finishes such as black, white, or natural oak, and are completed professionally to gallery standards.
Can I frame my print myself?
Yes. Unframed prints are sized to fit standard frames and can be framed locally. I recommend using acid-free materials to preserve the artwork over time.
-

Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes, shipping is available across Australia. Shipping costs and delivery timeframes are calculated at checkout.
How long will my order take to arrive?

-

Is artwork a good investment?
